As the boating season is upon us, the Marine Division wants to remind boaters that state law requires that they always have sufficient life vests for all passengers onboard their vessel, have a working fire extinguisher onboard gasoline powered vessels, and have flares onboard that are not outdated. Children under 13 years old are always required to wear a life vest while the vessel is underway.

Connecticut State Law requires any vessel operator to have a “Boaters License”. All vessels that require registration must clearly display their registration numbers and valid registration decals.
