On Feb. 17, 2011 at approximately 7:30am, the Darien Police Department received a report that a twelve (12) year old boy was approached by a suspicious vehicle on Intervale Rd. in Darien. The vehicle in question was described as a black or dark blue Audi, “not shiny or new,” and having an unknown registration. The operator of the vehicle asked the child, "would you like a ride,” but the boy responded “no.”  The operator was described as a white male with lightly tanned skin, medium length hair, and was clean shaven. The child also described the operator as possibly being “learning disabled.”

After the child responded to the operator, the vehicle drove off and was last seen turning onto Forest Rd. A CodeRED Emergency Alert Message was sent out to area residents advising them of the incident.   If you have any information on this vehicle or where the person who was operating this vehicle is, please contact the Darien Police Dept. at 203-662-5300.

Issued 1200 hrs.
