Re: Bomb Threat Made To Darien Whole Foods Store

Darien, CT- At approximately 3:00pm the Darien Police Department was contacted by management of the Darien Whole Foods store located at 150 Ledge Rd. Management indicated that the store had received a phone call from an unknown person that was threatening in nature and mentioned the use of a “Bomb.” It was reported that the call was placed to the main number of the Darien Whole Foods Store.
Based on initial investigation and through collaboration with store management, all necessary precautions were taken including the evacuation of the premises and notifying the Darien Fire Department.
With the assistance of the Stamford Police Bomb Squad, the establishment was searched and subsequently cleared using an explosive detection K-9. The store remained closed for approximately 90 minutes but re-opened shortly after 5:00pm.
