Arrests for Burglary on Noroton Ave.
Darien,CT, Tuesday April 23, 2013 -- At approximately 3:15pm the Darien Police Department responded to a residence on Noroton Avenue on the report of a residential burglary. A resident of the home returned after being out and discovered that the home had been entered and ransacked. The resident reported that jewelry and electronics had been taken.
The Darien Police Department developed information that the proceeds of the burglary were located in Milford. Investigative efforts by the Darien Police led them to a hotel in Milford where the stolen items were recovered. The Darien Police arrested Philip Michael Rivera, 27 years of age of 292 Bunnel Street in Bridgeport, CT., and charged him with Burglary in the 3rd degree, Conspiracy to Burglary in the 3rd degree and Larceny in the 4th degree. Rivera had a lengthy criminal record for similar types of crimes. Rivera was unable to post the twenty five thousand dollar bond and appeared in court today, April 24, 2013. The Darien Police determined that this burglary was not related to another reported burglary earlier in the day on Weeds Landing in which other individuals were arrested.
