The Darien Police Department is a progressive police agency up to the challenge of providing a high level of service to a great community. Our sustained level of performance and low crime rates coupled to a constant search for new and better ways to do things makes this Department an agency to be proud of. An ongoing dialogue with our constituents – residents of all ages as well as our elected officials - allows us to play a part in making Darien a wonderful place to live in, work in, or visit.
New initiatives and the acquisition of new technology have taken us to places that seemed out of reach only a few years ago. With a team of 51 highly trained, highly motivated, and fully engaged police officers, the Department remains constantly on the move. With a high percentage of our officers possessing advanced college degrees, we are able to apply best practices models to the wide array of services we offer – all resulting in a better product on the street. Our ongoing academic partnership with Sacred Heart University continues to provide us with a blueprint to the future, with more to be done.
Construction recently began on a new Police Headquarters. With input from all of our staff throughout the design process, the facility will be remarkable place in which to work. The new facility will be a very visible statement of the Town of Darien’s commitment to public safety.
