The Department is currently accepting rolling applications for lateral entry limited to certified police officers

The Darien Police Department is accepting rolling applications for full time certified police officers. Candidates must have maintained their certification for a minimum of two consecutive years and must have earned a minimum of 30 credits from an accredited college or university. Armed Robbery Of Chase Bank

The Darien Police Department is currently investigating a robbery of the Chase Bank located at 165 Noroton Ave. Shortly after 4:00pm on 2/24/2015, a white female entered the establishment and approached a bank employee. The suspect then displayed a firearm and demanded cash. read more

 

Darien Police Arrest Two For Burglary:

Darien, CT- On 01/22/2015 this agency responded to a burglary of a Waldon Rd. residence that was under construction. Initial investigation revealed that the residence was forcibly entered and over $8,000.00 in contractors tools and compressors had been stolen. On 2/4/2015 Darien Police Detectives learned the whereabouts of the stolen tools and were subsequently able to recover them. read more

 

Darien Police Department Seeks Re-accreditation:

A team of assessors from the Police Officers Standards and Training Council will arrive on February 27, 2015 to examine the Darien Police Department policy and procedures as they relate to Tier II, I Liability, II Professional, III General Management of the state accreditation standards. Verification by the team that the Darien Police Department meets the POST Councils state of the art accreditation standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation, a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence. read more

Definitely, according to Sergeant Jeremiah Marron of the Darien Police Department Selective Enforcement Unit, Not only is Heroin sold and used in Darien, but its severely addictive properties are motivating crimes such as burglary, larceny, theft from vehicles, and recently even Home Invasion. "Heroin is pummeling the Northeast, leaving addiction, overdoses and fear in its wake," said James Hunt of the Drug Enforcement Administration's New York Office. read more

Reward Offered In Robbery of People's United Bank

The Darien Police Detective Division is seeking assistance in a bank robbery investigation. On Wednesday April 30, 2014 at approximately 2:00pm, the Peoples United Bank located at 25 Old Kings Hwy North, was robbed. The suspect entered the bank using an open umbrella to shield himself from vestibule and ATM cameras. read more
