Arrest
Issued by: Lieutenant
Jeremiah P. Marron Jr.

For Immediate Release
Darien, CT – Over
the past two weeks, the Darien Police Detective Division and Selective
Enforcement Unit (S.E.U.) developed information that Benjamin Bruno Jr., age
67, was selling prescription narcotics out of his residence located at 10 Henry
St. Darien. Specifically it was
determined that Bruno was selling large quantities of Oxycodone from his home. Once this information was confirmed, Darien
Detectives along with assistance from the Stamford Police Narcotics and
Organized Crime Unit (N.O.C.), conducted controlled purchases of Oxycodone from
Bruno at his residence. Due to the nature of this crime and that it was taking
place within very close proximity to Middlesex Middle School, officers swiftly
applied for and were granted warrants for Bruno’s arrest and for the search of
his residence.
On November 8, 2017
officers conducted a surveillance of Bruno’s residence and at approximately
12:30pm observed him exit his home and walk to a neighbor’s driveway. At that point officers moved in and took
Bruno into custody without incident. At
the time of his arrest, Bruno had approximately $1,800.00 in cash on his
person. Subsequent to his arrest
officers executed the search warrant on Bruno’s residence and recovered over 75
pills of Oxycodone and Oxycontin, over an ounce of Marijuana, and packaging
material and equipment clearly indicating Bruno was also selling marijuana out
of his residence.
Bruno was charged
with:
·
2 Counts Sale of a Controlled Substance
·
2 Counts Sale of a Controlled Substance

20, 2017. No further information is
being released at this time.
