Ofc. Stuart Schwengerer has been selected as the Darien Police Department’s first School Resource Officer (S.R.O.) for Middlesex Middle School.  Ofc. Schwengerer has 18 years of law enforcement experience, most of which have been with the Darien Police Department.  Previously assigned to the Patrol Division, Ofc. Schwengerer served in the United States Marine Corps and has an Associate’s Degree from Gateway College.  He is a Field Training Officer, a Firearms/Patrol Rifle Instructor, and a member of numerous specialized units including the Marine Division, Honor Guard, the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team.  Over the summer Ofc. Schwengerer will be attending training through the National Association of School Resource Officers.  He will begin his assignment at Middlesex Middle School in late August.
